Q: Will there be any other Cataclysm realms opened up right after Greymane, and if so, what will be the rates?
A: Of course there is likely to be more Cataclysm realms available in the future, but when they will be released, and what any of their rates may be, has not been decided upon yet.
Q: What is Greymane's realmlist? I'd like to be ready to log on as soon as possible.
A: The realmlist should be the same as our Wrath of the Lich King realms.
Q: Will I be able to play on Greymane if my client has been updated to patch 4.3?
A: Yes. Any client that is of a greater, or equal patch of the server's current (4.0.6a), will be able to play on Greymane.
Q: Regarding the question above, does that mean 4.2 and 4.3 content will be available to us that have patch 4.2 or 4.3 clients?
A: No, the content of the realm is based off of the realm's version. Not your client's version. Only 4.0.6 content will be available until the realm itself is upgraded to the next patch.
Q: Where do we report bugs for Cataclysm?
A: The Bug-Tracker, of course. However, there will be a seperate one for Cataclysm.
Q: Will Molten host a download for Cataclysm?
A: Yes, of course we will host a Cataclysm torrent. This download will be completely seperate from our Wrath of the Lich King download, however. If you simply wish to just upgrade your client, please update by using your launcher. That is the fastest method.
Q: What about the Cataclysm launcher? You know, the one that's needed to properly connect to the server?
A: We will host the download for this as well, but only once Greymane launches.
Q: When will the donation and vote shops be open for Greymane?
A: We will open these shops after a reasonable amount of time has passed after Greymane's launch. We would like to give regular users a fair chance at obtaining realm first achievements, levels, and gear, before allowing these things and completely unbalancing the playability of the realm.
Q: What about the "pre-Cata world event"? You know, the "Elemental Invasion"?
A: This event will not take place on any of our realms. Sorry about that.
Q: Will I be able to play Goblin or Worgen as soon as the realm launches? And will I be able to get out of the starting locations?
A: There may be trouble with this at the start, but I can assure you that our developers are hard at work on these things, and we hope to have everything in these areas working relatively quickly after the realm's launch. However, yes, you will be able to play these races from the start.
Q: What are the general realm specs for Greymane currently?
A: Patch 4.0.6a and 5x experience.
Q: What about the population cap? What will be Greymane's cap?
A: When the realm is launched, it will be 4,000. It may be reduced if there are stability issues, as we are not able to stress test the ability of the realm until it is launched.
Q: Will ____ work?
A: There is no guarantee that what works on our Wrath of the Lich King realms will be working when Greymane launches. About Cataclysm content, you'll just have to wait and see. Some things do work. Some things don't. Those that don't, we hope to have fixed quickly. The more accurate testing we get, the quicker we can get the bugs fixed.
Q: Will there ever be realm transfers from the Wrath of the Lich King realms, to Greymane or other Cataclysm realms?
A: They will be eventually. When they will be enabled has not been decided yet, and it also greatly depends on realm population status and the demand for such a feature.
Q: Will Premiums be allowed to create Death Knights at realm launch?
A: This feature will not be enabled until many players have normally reached level 55. You can wait for this, or you can level up to 55 yourself, then create your Death Knight.
Q: Will Premiums be able to skip queues when Greymane is launched?
A: This has not been decided yet.
Q: Will we have to create new accounts to play on Greymane?
A: No, you will not. The accounts you already have will be what you will use to log into Greymane.
Q: What about other realms? Will they be upgraded to Cataclysm?
A: We just don't know at the moment. If any of our Wrath of the Lich King realms become under-populated, and our Cataclysm realms are over-populated, we may consider it. Such a situation would be taken care of delicately, so that everyone on the realm to be upgraded would have the opportunity to move to another Wrath of the Lich King realm, or stay. More answers on that particular subject cannot be given until such an event occurs.
Q: What about addons? What versions should I get? Ones that match my client version, or ones that match the server patch?
A: The addons you get, will generally need to be compatible with version 4.0.6a, though there are a few exceptions.
Q: Will there be a launcher for Mac users?
A: At the current point in time, we don't really know. We would like to be able to provide support for our Mac users, but there won't be any at launch. I apologize for the inconvenience.
Q: Will I be able to play Cataclysm or Wrath of the Lich King at any time I want?
A: Yes. Simply copy your current Wrath of the Lich King client and update it to Cataclysm. The Wrath of the Lich King client that is left behind will still be in working order, and will allow you to play on our Wrath of the Lich King realms.
